Democracy Defenders

Misinformation and disinformation are rampant - and often, targeted to damage our democracy. Institutions move too slowly to handle it. We need a grassroots response to quickly counter proliferating lies, offer accurate and timely information sourced from credible outlets and delivered in compelling format, and a network of amplification tools to ensure those messages reach the people who need to hear it.

Democracy Defenders is that project.

We'll monitor social media outlets, formulate rapid-response knowledgebases to counter disinformation, patrol newspaper and YouTube comment sections, and take on the enemies of democracy where they do much of their modern work - in the information space.

Project planning calls for this program to begin ramping up in autumn of 2022.
